Alpha Phi sisters lead by example and strive for continuous, innovative improvement in the area of community leadership. When you become a member of Alpha Phi, you will have many opportunities to hold leadership positions within the chapter. These positions allow our chapter officers to garner organizational and presentation skills (among others), whilst serving our sisters and propelling the chapter forward.
Our Executive Council oversees the chapter and leads members towards their goals. As a cohesive and determined team, the executives hold weekly meetings and spearhead each of their respective departments. Additionally, a team of dedicated and experienced alumnae advisors assist the collegiate executives by offering helpful insight.
As part of an international sisterhood, Alpha Phi members not only participate in activities on campus and in the community, but also take part in leadership and training opportunities offered by Alpha Phi International. Each year, our seven members of the Executive Council and our Chapter Advisor travel to a new city - last year was Newark, New Jersey - to attend the Eastern Leadership Conference with over 35 other Alpha Phi chapters from the Eastern Quadrant. Three of our sisters were also chosen to participate in the Emerging Leadership Institute at Alpha Phi's Butler chapter in Indianapolis, Indiana, where they met with likeminded individuals from across North America and took away valuable lessons in leadership and sisterhood. To learn more about ELI and other leadership opportunities, visit the Alpha Phi International website's Leadership Opportunities page. One of our previous chapter presidents attended the 2014 Biennial Convention in Palm Springs, California with representatives from all of Alpha Phi's more than 161 chapters; this year, our current president will be travelling to Cleveland, Ohio to attend the 71st Biannual Convention where she will meet other Chapter Presidents from the now 165 chapters of Alpha Phi!
Be zestful and carry your torch high.
